Decomposition of agrochemicals by Ozonation

K. Abe, K. Tanaka
[Midzushorigijutsu, Vol.34, pp.545-549, 1993]

Five agrochemicals, asulam, ametryn, DEP, CAT and CNP were decomposed by ozone and ozone + UV. They were hardly decomposed by ozone alone, but they were almost completely by ozone +UV except ametryn. Heterocycle ring in ametryn containing nitrogen was not decomposed even by photocatalytic treatment after ozonation. Upon decomposition of these agrochemicals, SO_{4}^{2-}, Cl-, NO_{3}, and PO_{4}^{3-} were formed and thus the complete mineralization were proved.
