As industrial activities expand, analytical techniques become increasingly important. Chemical standards with definite compositions are essential when estimating analytical values from voltage or current signals that have been usually obtained. There is a growing demand for standard solutions of many kinds of metal and non-metal ions. In order to establish those Japanese standards, purity measurements by gravimetry and precise coulometric titration as well as trace analysis have been studied on various high-purity metals, KNO3, NaF, NH4Cl, NaCl, antimony (III) oxide, sulfamic acid and so on. Also being developed is technology for highly precise determination of the concentration of standard solutions.
