Scandium fluxes across cellulose triacetate membranes containing mixtures of o-nitrophenyl octyl ether and quaternary ammonium salts possessing 2 to 4 long alkyl chains were determined. The quaternary ammonium salts acted as carriers of the scandium in the presence of thiocyanates. The flux decreased with increasing long alkyl chain. It was also affected by the type of the cation of the thiocyanate (Fig.1).
