Luminescence Quenching in Micellar Clusters at Short Times and/or High Quencher Concentrations

A. V. Barzykin, and M. Tachiya
[J. Phys. Chem., Vol.98, No.40, pp.9950-9954, 1994]

A stochastic model for luminescence quenching in clusters of monodisperse micelles is developed and exactly solved for the case where both probes and quenchers can migrate between individual micelles that are in direct contact during the excitation lifetime. The model provides a short-range approximation to the survival probability being accurate at short times and/or at sufficiently high quencher concentrations, when the reactants make at most one step before reacting.
