Promoting Effect of Coadsorbed CO on the Decomposition of Saturated Hydrocarbons on Ni(755)

Coadsorption of saturated hydrocarbons and CO has been investigated by temperature programmed desorption (TPD). Coadsorbed CO promotes the decomposition of low reactive hydrocarbons ( for example, cyclohexane ) during TPD (Fig.1). The coverage and decomposition fraction ( The ratio of decomposed molecules to adsorbed ones ) are determined from TPD by using the effect of coadsorbed CO.
