The voltammographic behavior of Pt(III) electrode in sulfuric acid solution has been examined in detail. Two set of peaks are observed as shown in Fig. 1. It is found that the set of peaks Ic and Ia becomes symmetrical at negative and positive scans with low scan rate. The behavior of the set of peaks Ic and Ia is coupled with that of another set of peaks IIc and IIa.
The admittance plots were obtained by a.c. impedance method in potential region of peaks Ic and Ia. It is found that the interface between sulfuric acid solution and Pt(III) is expressed by the equilibrium circuit; the series of the pseudo-capacitance and the charge transfer resistance is connected with the double layer capacitance in parallel.
