The crystallization of the MFI ferrisilicate during the hydrothermal synthesis has been studied by means of the Si and Fe K edge XANES and EXAFS. The results indicate that the precursor of the MFI framework containing Fe is formed at an early stage of the synthesis, followed by instantaneous crystallization in a short period of 30 minutes.
