A concept of two-parameter stochastic resonance (SR) is shown by using a model of the photosensitive Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction in a flow system. Computational studies of a modified Oregonator model, which has two experimentally controllable parameters (light intensity and flow rate), indicate that a periodic signal in the flow rate is detected by noise in the light intensity or vice versa by the process of SR. This phenomenon, referred to as two-parameter SR, suggests that a periodic signal may be detected by noise from a different source instead of the same source which has been considered up to now in the framework of SR.
