Studies on the Development of Biochemicals and Surfactant-Enhanced Remediation

Biochemicals for ecologically and biologically compatible materials have been developed. Our studies of biosurfactants and biomimetic surfactants ( glycolipid-, carboxylid- and peptide-type ones ) are summarized in this paper including the properties, functional developments, functional designs, and chemical modifications for high performance as well as biosyntheses, enzymatic and chemical syntheses. Furthermore, this paper deals with our studies on the new environmental remediation using biosurfactants and the development of surfactant-enhanced ultrafiltration procedures.
