Analytical technology for the physicochemical phenomena in chelating compounds accumulated on micro environments

Physicochemical phenomena in chelating compounds accumulated on various surface enviroments were studies by using verious technical methods.
Thermodynamics about ion chromatography (IC) and the effect of electrostatic phenomena in ion exchange were analyzed with Donnan potential estimated by the measurement of streaming potentials. Retention time in IC varied with Donnan potentials in the resin of column. Swelling pressure-volume curves for chelating resins were measured with a hand-made apparatus detecting them with rheometer. Swelling properties were observed under various salt conditions. ƒÎ-A curves and stripping voltammetery analysis at oil/water interface were also measured. Ligands in the oil phase were chelating at o/w interface, and adsorbing or desorbing behaviors at the interface were observed by this measurement. Different condensation mechanisms of vesicles, containing crown ether moiety on its surface, depending on the cation species in the solution are proposed based on the measurement of condensation rate.
